On this 21st day of August, A.D., 1865, personally appeared before a Court of Record within and for said county, Tabitha Crawford, aged 31 years, a resident of District No.15, in the county of Sullivan, and the Sate of Tennessee, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth, on her oath, make the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the act of Congress approved July 14,1862. That she is the widow of Edward Crawford who was a Private in Company B, commanded by Captain Thomas Easley, in the 4th Regiment of Tennessee Volunteer Cavlary, commanded by________________________ in the war of 1861. ___________________ That her said husband died at Nashville, in the State of Tennessee, on the ________ day of October A.D., 1864 while in the line of duty in the service of the United States.
She further declairs that she was married to the said Edward Crawford at the house of John Hall, on the 17th day of October A.D., 1852, by one William White, a Justice of the Peace; that her name before her marriage was Tabitha Crawford, and that ever since the death of her husband, she has remained a widow: as will more fully appear by reference to the proof annexed.
That during the existence of the forsaid marriage there born to her and her said husband the following children, who are now under the age of sixteen years, viz:

herAlso personally appeared A.R. Moulton and A.R. Mullimx residents of district No.15, in the county of __________________ and the State of Tennessee, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who, being by me duly sworn, say that they were present and heard the contents of the forgoing declaration read to the said Tabitha Crawford and saw her make her mark thereto. They further swear that they were acquainted with the said Edward Crawford, deceased, in his life-time, and know that he and the said Tabitha Crawford, lived and cohabited together as man and wife, up to the time when he entered the service, and that they were generally recognized as such by their acquaintances and neighbors, and their marriage was never questioned. That during the continuance of said marriage there were born to them the following named children, all of whom are now under the age of sixteen years,viz:
Thomas Crawford, Emily Crawford, Zachariah Crawford, Darcus R. Crawford, Martha Jane Crawford, David Crawford, Edward Crawford Jr.
That since the death of her said husband, the said Tabitha Crawford has not married, but is still a widow; and the she is the identical person she represents herself to be. All the foregoing statements they make from their own personal knowledge; and they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim.

It appeares from the Rolls on file in this Office that Edward Crawford was enrolled on the 15th day of November 1861, at Greeneville, Tennessee in Company B forth Regiment of Tennessee Cavlary Volunteers, to serve three years, or during the war, and muster into service as a Private on the 15th day of November 1861, at Nashville Tennessee, in Company B Fourth Regiment of Tennessee Cavlary Volunteers, to serve three years, or during the war. On the Muster Roll of Company B of that Regiment, for th emoths of September and October 1864, He is reported Died October 4th, 1864 at nashville, Tennessee.

State of TennesseeOn this 20th day of January a.d. one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight, personally appeared before the Clerk of County Court, Tabitha Pulliam a resident of Fall Branch, in the County of Washington, and the State of Tennessee, aged 33, who being duly sworn according to law, doth on oath make the following Declaration as guardian of the minor children of Edward Crawford, deceased whos ages are correctly stated below and who are the only legitimate children of said Crawford who was never before married, deceased, in order to obtain the beneifits of the provision made by the Act of Congress approved July 14th, 1862, granting Pensions to minor children, under sixteen years of age, of deceased officers and Soldiers; that she is the true guardian of Thomas, Emily, Zachariah, Darcus, Martha Jane, David and Edward Crawford whose father was a Private in Company B commanded by Thomas Easley in the 4th Regiment of Tennessee Cavlary commanded by Colonel Jacob Thornbury in the war of 1861; and that said Edward Crawford died at Nashville, Tennessee on the 4th day of October, in the year A.D. 1864; that his death was caused by congestive chills by exposure on a hard march in middle Tennessee after frost; that the mother of the children aforesaid remarried on the 19th day of November A.D. 1865, and that the date of birth of her said wards are as follows: Thomas born Sept. 12th, 1853, Emily born April 11th, 1855, Zachariah born August 20th, 1856, Darcus born July 29th, 1858, Marth Jane born December 21st, 1859, David born April 15th, 1861, and Edward born February 14th, 1863; and they are the only legitimate children of said Edward Crawford. She further declares that the parents of his said wards were married in Greene County, Tennessee at John Hall's house on the 17th day of October, in the year eighteen hundren and fifty one, by William White J.P. G.Co. ????
She also declares that her or his wards have not in any manner been engaged in, or aided or abetted the rebellion in the United States, but have always been true and loyal to the Govenment of the United States; and he here-by authorizes and enpowers William M??????? to prosecute this claim, and to receive and receipt for any certificate or draft that may be issued for the same and she claims this person guardian of said children and Darcus was born June 29th, 1853, all ???? from ??????

Grisham, Clerk County Court.We Elizabeth Crawford and Darcus Crawford resident citizens of Sullivan County, Tennessee on oath say that we were present and saw the above named Elizabeth Crawford act as midwife in which capacity she has long been employeed in the neighborhood, and at the house of the late Edward Crawford husband ????? of Tabitha Crawford. That we were both present when the said Tabitha Crawford gave birth to the following named children whose ages are correctly stated.
Thomas Crawford born about the 12th day of September, 1853.and we know the children to be now living and have been well acquainted with them ever siense their birth and can say that the above facts and statements are true to the best of our knowledge and belief and that we are personnally knowing to said statement. We have no interest of any kind or any way in the collection of the claim for said children's pension.

State of TennesseeWe Martha Crawford and Darcus Crawford resident citizens of said county and state on oath say that we were present when the above named Martha Crawford officiated as midwife and when the following named children were born at the house of Edward Crawford who acknowledged said children to be his own legitimate children and who was never before married. We further say that the legitimacy was never questioned to our knowledge and they still live with their mother and their names are;
Martha Jane Crawford born about the 21st day of December, 1859.We have every reason to believe these ages are correctly stated and from our on personal knwoledge say that each age is given as near as we can from memory give them and we have no other record more than attendant circumstances to refresh memory. We have no interest direct or indirect in the prosecution of this claim, we have been well acquainted with the said children from birth and know the father and mother to have lived together as husband and wife until his enlistment in the Army.
