JOHN ORPHY, VETERAN DIES

Served in Civil War in Thirty-Sixth New York Volunteers.

John ORPHY, a veteran of the Civil war, died Thursday at his home, No. 325 Brown street. He was born in Buffalo in 1844 and came to Rochester thirty-seven years ago to enter the employ of the C.T. Ham Manufacturing Company. He remained with the company until 1904. He served with the Thirty-sixth New York Volunteers and was a member of O'Rorke Post, G. A. R. He served for many years as a member of the Public Market Commission. 

Mr. ORPHY leaves his wife, Mrs. Ellen Margaret ORPHY, a daughter, Mrs. Alfred W. HENCKELL, and two grandchildren, Miss Esther and Miss Marion HENCKELL.

Mrs. Jacobina NAU died yesterday at the family home, No. 135 Field street, aged 82 years. She leaves three sons, George and John NAU of Rochester and Peter NAU of Germany, three daughters Mrs. John DAFFNER and Mrs. Henry SINGLETON of Rochester, and Miss Barbara HAFFNOR of Germany, twenty-five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Boniface's Church.

Luke DOYLE died yesterday afternoon, aged 75 years. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. A. E. HEELLSTON of Ottawa, and Miss H.M. and Miss E.M. DOYLE of Toronto. The remains were removed to the home of his son, Matthew DOYLE, No. 77 Arbutus street.

Mrs. Jane EDWARDS died yesterday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. W. Howe SMITH, No. 132 Wellington avenue, aged 82 years. She leaves a sister, Mrs. (can't read the rest)

The funeral of Arthur JONES, of Irondequoit, took place Thursday. He leaves his father and three sisters, Mrs. TOBIN, Mrs. WILSON and Mrs. BECKER.

James B. BALDWIN died yesterday at No. 652 Main street east, aged 82 years. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Elliot M. HAGNE of this city.

The infant son of Lewis and Mary SINGER died Thursday at the home, No. 277 Lexington avenue.
