Thomas OLIVER - Death of Well-Known Contractor After Long Illness.
Thomas OLIVER, a well-known contractor of this city, died this morning at the
family residence, 79 Alexander street, aged 72 years. Mr. OLIVER was born
in England in November, 1829 and came to this country with his parents in June,
1840, making his residence here since. He was a member of Calvary
Presbyterian church for 22 years and had been an elder a part of the time.
Mr. OLIVER had been sick for some months and his death was expected.
He is survived by his widow [Elizabeth J.], two sons, Elmer L. and Horace T.
OLIVER, one brother Older OLIVER, two sisters, Mrs. Mary A. Deming of this city
and Mrs. Elizabeth Gardner of Hubberdston, Mich., and five grandchildren.
The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
