DEATHS

George WAMBACH died yesterday at his home on Ulm street, aged 81? Years. The funeral will be held from the Church of the Holy Redeemer at 8 o'clock to-morrow morning.

James MORAN, one of the pioneers of Rochester, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 88 South Clinton street. Mr. Moran was born in Wicklow county, Ireland, in 1824, and came to this country in 1847. In 1858 he commenced business for himself in this city as a clothing merchant, and continued to conduct the business until failing health obliged him to give it up in 1882. The deceased leaves a wife, Mrs. Mary E. MORAN, on son, P. E. MORAN, four brothers, Samuel E., of Indianapolis, Ind., John and Thomas of Canandaigua and J. D. MORAN of Webster, N. Y., and one sister, Mrs. Mary HUTCHINSON of this city. The funeral will take place from St. Mary's church Monday morning at ten o'clock.

Mrs. Betsey KELLEY died Thursday afternoon at the residence of her son-in-law, J. B. FULLER, 20 Upton Park. Deceased was eighty-six years of age. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. J. B. FULLER. The funeral will be held from the house at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.

August STUTZ, of 10 Jefferson avenue, died Thursday, aged sixty-two years. The funeral will take place from the house at two o'clock Sunday afternoon.

Ellen, wife of John BARRY, of 87 Litchfield street, died yesterday, aged 73 years. The funeral will take place from the Cathedral at nine o'clock Monday morning.

Andrew ROWE, aged 80 years, died yesterday at the residence of Henry MILLER, on Manhattan street. The funeral will take place at two o'clock to-morrow afternoon.

The funeral of Mrs. Anna BANTA will take place at three o'clock this afternoon from the house, 314 Troup street.

Reuben DOTY died at his residence at Adams Basin last night of paralysis. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at one o'clock. The deceased was a brother-in-law of Deputy Sheriff WEBSTER.

The funeral of Rosa Belle PLIMPTON, only daughter of Mrs. Harriet ENEARL, of Delevan street, in this city, was held yesterday, the interment being at Mumford, where the family formerly resided. Appropriate services were held in the U. P. Church in that village, conducted by Rev. H. McW. RUSSELL, of Caldonia. The attendance was large, comprising many from this city, and the friends of the family at Mumford, with whom the deceased was deservedly a great favorite. She was an interesting and amiable young lady and her early death is a sad blow to her mother, who idolized her.

Last evening, Miss BURTIS's dancing class commenced the second term in Powers hall. The children's class received its first instruction at 10 o'clock this morning.

Robert TUMBULL will give his first lesson to the class in boxing at the Rochester Athletic association rooms this afternoon.

MATTHEW HICKEY'S DEATH

Matthew HICKEY, who was sentenced to imprisonment at Auburn state prison for life for homicide, died at that institution yesterday.

DEATHS AND FUNERALS

PETER STRINGHAM

Died yesterday (Thursday, Jan. 28, 1886) at his home 245 North avenue, aged sixty seven years, The funeral services will be held at the house Saturday morning and the remains will be taken to Buffalo for Interment.

Sue FOSTER, a former resident of this city , died at his home in Muscatine, Iowa, on the 21st inst., aged eighty years.

The funeral of Thomas GREEN will be held from his late residence 18 Cypress street, at half past two o'clock this afternoon and from St. Andrews' Church at three-o'clock. Members of St. Andrews' Brotherhood are requested to meet at their hall at two o'clock to attend the funeral.

James WEBBER died Wednesday at the residence of his father, 621 North avenue. The funeral will take place from the house this afternoon.

A son of Charles F., and Jenny V. TORKINTON died yesterday afternoon at the home of his parents, 107 Reynolds street, aged eight years. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the house.

This morning George TWIST one of Rochester's old and respected citizens passed away at his residence 56 Asylum street, aged eighty years. Deceased has resided in this city for fifty years and his many friends will be pained to learn of his death.

Departed this life yesterday morning, January 28th, from her home in Orange, N. J., Mrs. Charlotta FAIRBANKS, widow of the late John FAIRBANKS, formerly of this city, and sister of the late Rev. Mr. LOCKWOOD of Pittsford. She was taken from earth with the testimony of a good conscience, in the communion of the holy Catholic church, in the confidence of a certain faith, in the comfort of a reasonable, religious and holy hope; in favor with God, and in perfect charity with the world.

The death of Aretas ADAMS occurred at his home in Churchville Wednesday. The deceased was one of the most prominent citizens of Churchville and was about eighty-four years of age. He left no immediate family. His brother's children took care of him.
