ANOTHER DEATH
George KAHLER, a Brakeman on the State Line Railroad Killed this Morning Near
Black Creek-- The Inquest to be held to-morrow morning at Jeffrey's
Undertaking Rooms.
This morning early another brakeman named George KAHLER was killed on the
State Line Railroad at a place called Black Creek, about four miles from the
city. It seems that George was braking on an oil train No. 15, Conductor, W.
CARNEY, when he fell off one of the tanks and the wheels passed over him,
killing him instantly. His loss was not discovered until the train reached
Garbottsville, when search was immediately made for him and his body was found
at the place stated. The remains were picked up and taken to his father's
residence, at Lincoln Park Station, and Corner DANINGBURG notified George, who
was only 17 years of age, has been employed on the road for about 8 months,
and was universally popular among his associates. He leaves a father, mother,
and several sisters and brothers to mourn his loss. The inquest will be held
to-morrow morning at Jeffrey's undertaking rooms, and the funeral will take
place in the afternoon from the Allen Street Church. This is the third life
that has been lost on the State Line in the course of a few days.
