ALMOST A FATAL ACCIDENT

Yesterday afternoon as Constable Thomas GOULDING, of the Fourth Ward, was hunting in the vicinity of Black Creek with a party of friends, he noticed a boy at a distance shouting and jumping around in an extraordinary manner, Mr. GOULDING ran to the spot and found a smaller brother of the boy in the creek, just going down for the last time. The Constable waited for nothing, but leaped into the water levied on the youngster with a body execution. He landed his prize and received the more than heartfelt thanks of the anxious mother.
