LIVINGSTON
Colonel O. B. MAXWELL, of Dansville, was prostrated on Sunday last by a sudden paralytic shock. He had but recently
recovered from a severe and protracted illness, and it is feared by his friends that he will not speedily recover
from this affliction.
Dr. F. W. HURD received the sum of forty thousand dollars for his interest in "Our Home."
Horatio DYER, of Dansville, has purchased the Canaseraga Hall block in that village. Consideration $40,000.
Mr. Austin J. GAGE has purchased the Scottburg foundry of C. S. MARSHALL.
The first number of the Geneseo Valley Herald, published at Genesso, has made its appearance. J. C. CLEMENT, at
one time a compositor in the Democrat office, is the editor and proprietor. It is a neatly printed sheet with six
columns to the page, and starts off in a lively and promising style. It will advocate the principles of the Republican
party, and supports Gen. GRANT for President. We wish it the success which we do not doubt it will attain.
Geo. W. BARNEY, Superintendent of the Poor, is seriously ill.
The dwelling of Theodore SILSBEE and the barns of Michael LOTTER and Martin BOWES, in Bath, were burned to the
ground the other night.

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth RILEY, relict of Rev. Lawrence RILEY, an old resident of Lyons, is announced.
Mrs. Wm. WATSON, of Clyde, was badly scalded by accident the other day.

SENECA
Rev. W. W. LYLE has resigned the pastorship of the Wesleyan church at Seneca Falls.
By the accidental discharge of a pistol the other day, J. H. WALTING, of Seneca Falls, was shot in the face, the
ball passing through the cheek and out at the mouth.
John LEACH, an old resident of Seneca Falls, died suddenly at Mattison, Illinois, on the 11th.

Henry IVISON, Esq., of New York, has subscribed five hundred dollars to the proposed library at Auburn.
Rev. S. B. SHERRILL, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Meridian, has resigned, and is going at once to Ohio.

The house of Potter ROBERTS, in Wilson, was entered recently by burglars who carried off a valuable note, some
mortgages and a little money.
The death of Mrs. Julia A. McDONALD, of Lockport, is announced.

TAYLOR - In this city, Feb. 15th, of Scarlet Fever, Carrie, only daughter of Helen ?, and the late Charles L. TAYLOR,
aged 4 years, 1 month and 3 days.

A young Englishman who called himself NEUSBUM has been swindling the people of Perry.

SCHUYLER
Lyman H. FOWLER, of Watkins, aged twenty-four years, committed suicide last Tuesday night, by shooting himself
while in a fit of temporary insanity. His father drowned himself a year or two ago.
Rev. R. P. RUSSELL, of Weston, died recently.
Col. E. W. COOK has bought the whole of the Charles COOK estate in Havana.

John FLINTER, of Owasco, was killed on Friday morning by the fall of a tree which he had been chopping.
