PAINFUL ACCIDENT

Yesterday forenoon a most serious and painful accident happened to Mrs. Ann SEMPLE, mother of Andrew SEMPLE, grocer, of this city.
This lady, who is about 70 years of age, while walking along Buffalo street, in front of the National Hotel, slipped on the ice that covered the sidewalk, and falling, broke her leg above the knee. She was conveyed in a sleigh to the family residence, and Dr. MOORE was called to attend her. The physician is of the opinion that Mrs. SEMPLE will not again have the use of her limb. She has, up to the time of this accident, been as active in her habits as a person of one-third her age.
