NEW PATENTS - We obtain the following of Burke, Fraser & Osgood, (late
J. Fraser & Co.) the same being among their last issues:
C. F. SPENCER, fruit jar; P. M. HINMAN, do.
E. R. WILLIAMS, do.; Simon MINGES, wear plate;
Sturdevant & Harmon, tin apparatus;
Eli Perry, pump.
Messrs. B., F. & O. are doing a large business
in securing patents.

SCARCITY OF BEANS - White beans are so scarce that few of the grocers have
them for sale. They sold at five dollars per bushel, and perhaps even
more. The scarcity of beans induced many farmers to plant, but the report
of the crop is not favorable. There must be a large area of ground planted
but we are told that many of the beans will be inferior in quality.

FIRE AT DUNDEE - A block at Dundee, Yates County, was destroyed on
Thursday morning. The sufferers are J. D. FOWLER, grocer, J. BACKMAN,
druggist, M. GRANT, clothing store, J. C. FANNING, saloon, BEEBE &
SAGE, boots and shoes, J. DEMMARY, tin and hardware.
The insurance is but partial. Fire probably made
by an incendiary.

THE SCHOONER PARSONS - In writing of this new vessel we omitted to say
that she is under command of Capt. Wm. HARRY, who has sailed all or nearly
all the new vessels brought out by Capt. ROGERS, and there is no more
skillful navigator afloat upon the Great Lakes.
