DEATH OF ANOTHER PIONEER - The Democrat says David BAKER died at the residence of his son-in-law, Dea. G. W. TOWER,
in the village of Penfield, on the 22d instant, aged seventy-seven years. The deceased was one of the earliest
settlers of Penfield having settled in the town of his adoption in 1804(?) During his long residence there, fifty-six
years, he was always actively engaged in the interest of the community in which he lived. His funeral was be attended
by the Masonic fraternity of which deceased has long been a member, at the Baptist Church, in the village of Penfield,
on Sunday, the 25th inst.

THE LADY WHO DISAPPEARED - Mrs. GILBERT of Yates, Orlean county who disappeared so mysteriously and who was
found at Suspension Bridge, did not return home as stated. She stopped near Medina with a relative and alleged
as a cause for her unwillingness to return that the children did not treat her kindly. On the night that she left
home she walked eighteen miles and stopped at the "Checkered Tavern," which is, we believe, in Hartland,
and the next day she walked to Suspension Bridge and took lodgings the second night in one of the railroad buildings
there. She is probably not in sound mind.
