RUNAWAY AND NARROW ESCAPE - Yesterday morning, Dr. E. J. Reynolds and his wife were riding out in a buggy before which was a spirited mare, and in coming down High Street bridge toward Buffalo street, the animal became fractious and started to run. As the carriage turned into Buffalo street one of the forward wheels gave way and fell into fragments, and the occupants of the vehicle were thrown out with great violence, Mrs. Reynolds struck upon the cobble-stone paving in the street about eighteen inches from the curb, and the Doctor fell a few feet further east. By some accident little short of a miracle, neither received any serious injury, although both were badly bruised, especially the lady. She was taken into the University Building where she was suitably attended to.
The mare kept on eastward, and at the corner of Sophia street took to the north sidewalk, where she slipped and fell, but before anybody could
reach her was up again and off. At the State st. crossing she fell again and was secured. The result to the beast was some cuts and bruises, but no
lasting injury. The buggy was badly broken up.

Rev. H. BLACKMARR who has labored with the Free Will Baptist church in this city for the last four years, some time since offered his resignation which was accepted. He has since accepted a call to become pastor of a church in Omar, Chatauque county. He labored with that church some years ago, and returns with encouraging prospects. While here he labored faithfully. -  We wish him much success in returning to his old home.  RH
