Rochester Republican

A meeting was held by the inhabitants of the Town of Greece at J & J Stutson’s Inn on the 4th day of April, for the purpose of taking into consideration the subject of improving a portion of Ridge Rd lying east of Aaron Lay’s and opposite the farm of H. Bonesteel. The road has absorbed nearly the entire work of that road district without rendering it passable during the fall and spring months, and from its situation is entirely beyond the ability of said district to make it good and from its being the great thoroughfare for the western and northern travel and to test the advantage and durability of a plank road and that immediate measures be taken to solicit voluntary subscription to effect the object.  ws
