SAD OCCURRENCE - Amos WHITE of Canajoharie, sometime an inmate of the insane hospital at New York, was recently
removed home by his friends, his recovery supposed to have been nearly accomplished. He threatened violence, soon
after, to those who had deprived him of liberty, and made attempts to execute them. Mr. BURTON, a town officer,
went to secure him again, when he drew a butcher knife from beneath his coat and buried it in the abdomen of Mr.
B. leaving the blade in the wound. He was secured after making several thrusts at others with the handle. Mr. B.
was not dead at the last accounts, though the wound was of such a character as to afford little hope of recovery.
